The fabrication process begins with the selection of the design and the size of the design.
Next is the cutting and shaping of the sculpture frame and the bracing to hold the frame rigid during the welding.
Then begins the cutting and welding of the hundreds….. of pieces within the design.
Throughout the fabrication, there are several measurements and calculations that are checked.
The World sculpture in the photos is a series of 6 individual welded circles, that are then welded together into a spherical shape.
The next step is the initial cleaning and polishing of the welded sculpture. This step in the process is the most labor-intensive part of the fabrication
